The KF-100, the first fighter design to bear the famous Dralthi name, entered service in 2521. For over one hundred years, the Dralthi was the Empire's primary space fighter--they fought in dozens of inter-clan wars and flew against the Wu, Varni and Mantu. They remained the primary utility fighter for the first twenty years of the Terran-Kilrathi War, flying in almost every major naval engagement through the Pilgrim uprisings in 2654.

Dralthi pilots commonly use group tactics to negate the Confederation's technological advantage; in addition, their designers have focused on maintaining a targeting system that is at least equal to that of the Confederation. The Dralthi's life support system can maintain a Kilrathi pilot for ten hours, or a human for six. Dralthi have no ejection seats, a peculiarity of many of the more expendable Kilrathi fighter designs. The Confederation has captured several KF-100 Dralthi.
