The Dralthi VII is technically the final variant of the long-running Dralthi series of spaceframes, though various evolutions of the Dralthi IV model would end up far outliving it in the field. The Dralthi VII is distinct from its pancake-shaped relatives in that it is designed for long range operations: Dralthi VIIs mount jump drives and extensive life support equipment. In the final month of the war, all active Dralthi VIIs received a field upgrade kit which completely replaced their forward guns and missile loadouts.

The Kilrathi Sixth Fleet of the Claw used Dralthi VIIs extensively for independent commerce raiding in the Gemini Sector. Kahl, the fleet's commander, flew a Dralthi VII through to his death in late 2669.
