I designed a space station for my own science-fiction universe about the time I was a sophomore in high school (late '92/early '93). Started off as a mash of various sci-fi universes (like what my eldest kid is doing right now), including Trek; the outer pylons were inspired by Deep Space Nine and there's definitely more than a hint of Wing Commander in there.
I always thought the Midway looked a lot like the design I came up with, despite the fact that Prophecy came out something like four or five years later. Y'all can be the judge.
(Never been great at 3D modeling, but I definitely dabbled in it at an earlier time in my life.)

Kind of like a cross between the Arena version of the Midway and like the GI Joe hovercraft!
