WC1 and WCP killscores

When you say "WC1", do you mean just the original Wing Commander or are you including The Secret Missions? The reason I'm asking is that in the original, the maximum number of kills you can get about 216 or 217 kills. Unless you're cheating, of course.

Casey/Blair kills put together, couldn't touch brownhair's kill score :D !
Well, as you can fly around infinite and kill Pirates/Kilrathi or whatever you want for an endless times it is true.

That's what I was refering to. Brownhair doesn't have a set number of missions, so his kill count is as high as you take it.

For my "Brownhair" it would have been a little hard because I was at friendly terms with almost everyone. As a true cat lover I managed to finish Priv1 without shooting down a single Kilrathi. I think the only group that was still angry with me was Confed. And to think that I helped them to destroy the Steltek drone :)

He must run away from the cats, since there are waiting in orbit for you to show up with a certain person.
Yeah, when you rescue Dr. Monkhouse I think. And I did flee indeed. it was quite exciting because you have to fly through an asteroid field. That was thrilling! :) But if you were always nice to them (telling them that you are a coward etc.) they will still be friendly after that mission.

Key to getting away from those cats is to fly "around" the asteroid field. Using the nav map, note the white blip (your ship) position relative to the nav point of the asteroid field, and simply fly away and around it! Oh dont worry, they will follow you! ;) I used this technique in any of the sectors that had an asteroid field, except where you had to fly to the nav point directly in order to achieve mission completion. But the cats there at Palen where you pick up Monkhouse are sissys! A bunch of wannabee rejects from the Kilrathi KP patrol!!

Well, Wedge, I calculated that Casey can kill in WCP/SOPS combined as much as I could as Blair from WC1-WC4, all addons included. That means Casey can kill in a couple of months as much as Blair killed in his nearly 20years career.
The Nephilim are indeed a LOT easier than the Kilrathi. But nevertheless it is completely out of relation. But, ah I complained already in another thread.

Calculated? How does one do that anyway?

>1200 for WC1/2 combined.

Not sure about WC3/4.

>900 for WCP is definitely possible (OK, so I may have cheated, but the 1200 figure for WC1/2 is also based on 'cheating')

I think you could even top 1000 in SO. Could it be that Casey could possibly kill even more than Blair?

I counted all the kills from the Blair games together and came out with about 2300 (and I did not get all and there are missions where you fight infinite numbers and I only took the total winning path). In the two Casey games I came out with about 2000. In WCP I "only" got 720 but in SOPS I shot down 1300. And when you say WC1/2 combined, do you mean also with SM1/2 and SO1/2? Because after all those I had approximately 1200. I did not cheat (but of course I played it several times and took my best result).
Fact is that Casey kills per time ratio are far higher than Blairs. Duration WC1 start to WC4 end: about 18 years (2654-2672)
Duration WCP start to SOPS end: less than 6 months.

Wedge you cheat? Tsts, I am shocked! :)

That's interesting though it really isn't a fair comparison to rate the two pilots. First there's the concept of what the kills were of. For Casey it's the bugs, for Blair it's cats and people. Also for Blair it's a little unfair to say that's how many kills he aquired in those 18 years, as we really don't know how much of that time we played. Wing commander IV for instance is only about two weeks.

Besides, some WC encyclopedia like... LOAF.... will come rampaging and say that "who tells you that Blair only made kills in the WC games?"... ;)

And for once, I'd have to agree with this stupid "who tells you that..." behaviour, because there might be missions that Blair flies but that you DO NOT fly in the games...
(e.g. between each WC episode... :))
