I knew I would get it wrong. A friend of mine who studied Latin asked me once if I knew what Kilrathi meant in Latin and then explained it to me, but I wasn't really paying attention. *hits self*

No Regret don't hit yourself, hit your friend. Why would Kilrathi mean something different in Latin? - it's a Kilrathi word. I mean even if it were a Latin word, in this case it would still refer to our fuzzy friends.
 
Latin has no bearing on Kilrathi. It's like the Romulus/Remus Stellar pair in ST, purely "coincidence" as far as the we are concerned.
