Saga Targets Content Milestone (July 29, 2011)

Tolwyn reports that the WC Saga team can now envision the point where they will stop adding new content to the Freespace mod. A new beta will be released this weekend, and the focus will turn to balancing and bug fixing. Separately from the gameplay mechanics, they are also working on editing dialogue lines. We are just a few weeks away from being content complete. During the next few days we will be working on missing assets as we get ready to lock down. Right now our big focus is on balance tweaks, bug fixing and the little details that make the game feel more "real".

It would be really nice if one of the modders or beta testers could make something like a "let's play" video of one or two missions. Preferably without spoilers, if that's possible.
"Content complete" probably means it's still some months away from being playable for the most of us, i'd really like to see how the current version plays.

It's a little hard to project release dates based on milestone announcements. WC Saga announced that it was "gameplay complete" in 2008: https://www.wcnews.com/news/2008/12/12/catching-up-with-saga-day-2-gameplay-complete It's good to see progress being made at least.

That is a nice looking astroid! Still hope they copy the huge Arena one and throw it in there some where.
