I was on this site (I was trying to find Privateer and Richeous Fire (with sound addon) and i stumbled across this site. I opened it and it said for sale Privateer III release date 01/01 (which is January 2001 for you idiots out there) The url was:

There is no Wing Commander or Privateer game in the works at Origin. If you look around, you'll also find the non-existing Privateer 3 and Prophecy Gold official guides.
 
Personally I find playing multiplayer games on the internet is more trouble then its worth. But that might just be my computer messing up all the time.
 
Multiplayer would be much better than SP, as long as there would be no lag, and any monthly charges of course.

Imagine playing Prophecy but with few friends along to help out, ala Starlancer (even though the cooperative MP doesn't work that well in SL). It would beat the hell out of single player.
 
Well, StarCraft MP kicks major ass, what little I've played of Half-Life MP (I know where Cricket is coming from with teh comp troubles) has rocked. I'd love to play WCP MP or somethign similar. But then again, (most) computer AI sucks and it's nice to play against another mind once in a while. AI's too predictable.

Diablo 2 lets you finish the Single Player campaign in co-op too, and it's even better than Starlancer. That and arena multiplayer is great, but I'd probably like a persistent universe even better. Especially for a Privateer game.
 
I've tried StaLancer on the internet. It takes like ten minutes for me to log into the thing and find a game, then once you're in the game it freeze about every thirty seconds. It just annoys me way to much.
 
well I played armada a long time ago, and it suck, I give to a friend after finist it, what the hell was that all about?
we just get a carrier , no destroyers, no cruisers, no nothing is just to build fighers and kill the other side carrier, its was so sinple that I only lose a carrier 2 maps from the last, I played both as confed and as kilrathi. no challange there, the only thing I miss is the manual, there are interting things about the timeline.
 
Armada was a great deal of fun, especially in multiplayer, and especially once you downloaded the Proving Grounds addon (which allowed you to play multiplayer with six players, and gave some other neat trivia like asteroids). Just thinking of it makes me wish I had six DOS P75s around...
 
I don't think it's too much trouble to play Armada on present day computers... except the one with that new Windows 32-bit only OS.

Say... wasn't there some kind of method to play Lan games through the Net?

It's fine as long as everyone is on cable or DSL.
 
Yes, there are ways to simulate a lan. But many many people have tried and failed to get Armada to properly run that way.
 
P3?

Privateer 3? Didnt they file 13 that project? Or is it that all the fan email finally put a bug up their behinds and revive the project? Maybe Mr. Roberts could put some light on this. Beings the whole WC universe is his and E. Roberts creation. They should get the rights from Origin and continue it. Its sad to see such a good thing get swept aside. What is more rediculous is that you can still walk into a software store and find DOOM on cd, but you cannot find WCP SO! Very strange after they post the missions on the net but only for a short time and not send out a letter to the registered owners of the game to let them know there were more missions (add on, SO) for it. Im shure I am not the only one that missed that and looking for the gold edition. Who's running the store up there, micky mouse or goofy?

Origin

After all the problems that Origin is going, I am suprise that anyone is running the store.
Why does origin put on sale the Kilrathi saga, WC IV and WC P gold box, I know that the games are old now but i think that they would still sell.(I look for the kilrathi saga here but it was not available at the stores here and I did not have a Internet at that time).
