Why? The WC models in the XWA mod wasnt textured before geting it in the game? If so, i could convert them textured.

The X wing people gave me a copy of the ferret.

half as high as they are long. The model that
they gave me is only the mesh; the model
does not include texture coordinates.
If you ask the X-wing people for a model to try
out, I think they'd let you. Keep me posted,
any ships that get converted to the Prophecy engine

Hopefully dreddnott could enlighten us on this one.
We'd need to know both the u,v coordinates, and which
bitmap file texture corresponded to which face.

Here's what he told me before


The extraction can be in .3DS, .DXF, or whatever is most convenient (probably).
However, the model will not be textured. It will come with all the appropriate
textures, each
in a separate regularly-shaped 256-colour BMP, but you'll have to guess as to how to
apply them,
or make your own skin.

Well all we really need is the scimitar, we can use our current textures if neccessary.
Could anyone here help us increase the detail on some of our ships?
Our gratha, epee, scimitar, salthi and bengal could use some improvements to the textures, anyone feel like helping?

By extraction i guess you mean extracting them out of XWA...thats right?
If so, what about using the models BEFORE they put it into XWA??
Id like to take a look at one of those models.

We texture the ships with an in-house texturing program known as "ACE_DXF" (Alliance Craft Editor, DXF format only).

When I imported the Gratha (or any other ship) DXF into ACE_DXF, and as I apply the textures in ACE's native PRJ format, the textures are mapped. Only PRJ and XWA's native OPT formats contain the texture mapping, and no conversion tool from PRJ or OPT to a map-supporting format has been made. This means you're on your own as far as texturing (as I am if I can ever get the Fralthi into DXF format...could you send it to me? (3DS or OBJ is fine also)

I think thomas has got a little program that should let us do it and killerwave has been kindly updating our textures.

What do you guys use to texture prophecy ships?
I've been using a tool called UV Mapper
for win32 to do my stuff. It lets you
texture .obj files.

DXF, hmmm I know nothing about that stuff but I'm sure someone will :)
I'll get it converted to 3DS asap
 
DXF is basically universal, it contains, however, no texture information whatsoever..

You can convert the Fralthi to any format you like, because I'll texture it from scratch.

I'll be getting the Strakha Mk. I and maybe the Crossbow done soon, as well..
