next class of carriers?

Not in this case. It expands on Prophecy but doesnt need it to be played. The important point is that it isnt WC6.

In any case it is attached to Prophecy. Without knowing Prophecy, what your basically doing is fighting a bunch of bug looking ships with fish names. And a lot of them. You dont ever need to know the story from Prophecy but it does make it a richer experience for those playing either games. Without Prophecy, you dont kow about the chemistry between Casey and Stilletto, or who Zero and Maestro are. Even with the fiction i dont know how much you can possibly know about Spyder.

Original Phoenix, I'll say what I want to say, its a chat zone. Its credible boths ways, so lets agree to disagree?

But that's the same case with WC2 and WC3 -- you get no introduction to the Kilrathi War. Does this make them addons to WC1. :)?

No bandit, I first played WCII and I didn't know anything that happend in WC1. And SO is as I claim a semi-sequal/stand alone expansion like HW:C

Yes, it's a chat room. Yes, you can say whatever you want to say. BUT... it's not credible both ways, and THAT'S the point.

Phoenix, Actually this argument is one of personal belief as such no one can say who is right and who isn't since this is purely a matter of opinion. Movine on How bout them Giants, <G>

Arguments like this are too long to read thoroughly, but...

I propose that if the 'main' WC storyline follows WC1 to WC4, and WCP starts with a new character, continuing the 'main' storyline, then WCP can be considered WC5. Then, with SO neither being an add-on, nor completely a sequel, can be considered WC5.5, similar to SWC's SM1.5.

I think SO we can even call a WC VI, because if we look this way, you don't have to play the others games before, we don't have to install Prophecy to play SO or the others, it's independent and continues the story after the end of Prophecy has we see in the intro.

SO does have a killboard, and not all WC games have simulators. Additionally, it may not have FMV, but it does have cutscenes.

Yes you are right ... SO does have killboard and instead of FMV does have cutscenes, but it's independent and continues the story of Prophecy, why not call him 'WC VI' ? It's not the same like SM 1.5 of Super WC, right ? This diferences doesn't mean we can't call a sequel, in this case the n.º 6 ...
