Error running UE

When I click on the Start Wing Commander: Unknown Enemy button in the launcher, I get this error:

I'm running Windows XP, and I've tried setting compatibility on wcue.exe to Windows 95, and Windows 98/ME, to no effect.

Hardware is an Athlon XP1800+, KT-333 chipset, Radeon 9700Pro video card.
 
Did you try to start UE by clicking on the WCUE.exe file? Does this change something?
 
Thanks Pedro, that did the trick, silly me, I should have realised it was a graphic card issue.

Funny though, what constitutes a "capable" card for running 32-bit? I have a Radeon 9700Pro, faster than a GeForce 4 Ti4600, arguably the most powerful of the consumer gaming video cards available at the moment, and its "not powerful enough"? How odd.. :confused:

That is a good question. There is a certain randomity in that. Of course older cards don't work. As to why some newers don't - I don't know. Must be some error in the hack. I think it is only really 'certified' to work with nvidia cards.
