Hi, i'm just having some de ja vu about Wc1 and right know and I was wondering if you could hvae some missions flying of a bengal class ship like the TCS Wolfhound . This would seem logical because as mentioned in the CIC database, the Bengals were produced more than any other carrier besides the concordia class, not to mention that they are a more modern ship design then even the ranger class to which the TCS Victory belongs so woudn't it be logical to have some Bengal class ships flying around.

Oh and just for gloating sake, my combined kills in WC1 and 2 is 386

Bengals are already included, but from what I know of the storyline, you don't get the chance to fly from it.

Yeah I know but it would be logical to have to fly from one due to the fact that there are only a few old carriers in the potter system so you would think that one of them would be a bengal in your battle group.

I think they are not included in the prequel. The only capital ship you'll see there is the Lionhart, a Gilgamesh class destroyer.

In the second release there will be the TCS Wolfhound as a part of the Earth defense battlegroup. But you'll fly most missions from a light escort carrier.

Personally, I think Bengal and Confederation-class ships are way overrated among fans. Every other person who ever wanted to make a fan project dreams about these ships, so I'm not putting the player onboard any of them. No, no, no... enjoy your Gilgameshes and CVEs instead, kids.

And even if you suggested a different class of carrier which I happened to like, at this stage we can't afford to make any major changes to the plot.

Eder, could you post a reply with your opinion of my idea?

Newbie to the CIC board, you numerous and pointless posts that you post for the sake of making virtual CIC promotion to the virtual rank of 2nd Lieutenant is starting to piss me off. please thread lightly, don't post too much, and don't give your fellow posters the impression that you are some sort of hyper-active newcomer who posts 50 posts a day. There's been too much of those assclowns running around already.

Sylvester, I took the liberty of deleting your double posts, a silly thread, and merging two threads which you created about the same subject. Please don't do that kind of thing anymore, posting just for the heck of it or to ask others for replies is not appreciated. You can edit your posts up to 120 minutes after you make them with the edit button, so there's no reason to reply to your own posts either.

Opinion question to all: Are Bengals obsolete

We clearly see Bengals operating admirably as front line carriers in 2668, so probably not.

Eder, prehaps you could have the player fly off a bengal or confederation class ship in a sequel to standoff. Maybe i'm just nostalgic for the old days but I and many like me love those two ships.

Hmmm... when in '68? Last reference I can think of is the Wolfhound in '67.

(As for being obsolete -- they were to cease production in 2657, replaced (presumably) by the Jutland-class CVAs).

The TCS Trafalgar from End Run was one. We never see the in the games. They're essentially the 'replacement' for the Bengals -- big carriers focused more on stand alone actions than fleet support.

If you want a canon explanation, I don't have one.

If you want to know Standoff's take on the subject... it's just a sunken down area.

My combined kills from WC1 and Secret Ops 1 is 495, so nya. :p

And honestly, I think the only real 'reason' behind so many hordes of people yearning to experience Bengals and Gilgamesh's are due to the fact that it's a real experience to see them re-modelled and kicking some ass. Brings back the good ol' days. :D
