The Vindicator is a medium fighter that served primarily with the Union of Border Worlds.
Overview
The Vindicator is a Terran starfighter that can double as both a medium fighter and a light bomber. It features a standard missile loadout and a plethora of guns, as well as a rear turret for self-defense, making it a potentially lethal dogfighter in combat. It can also double as a light bomber, having occasionally carried out ground-based bombings on enemy forces and installations. All of this, coupled with its decent maneuverability and speed makes it a solid general-performance starfighter.
History
Very little is known about the Vindicator's early service. It is not known to have served on the frontlines with the Terran Confederation during the Terran-Kilrathi War, and was primarily utilized by the Union of Border Worlds. By 2673, the Vindicator was one of the primary Border Worlds starfighters in service.
The Vindicator saw much action during the Border Worlds Conflict in 2673, and were deployed to defend Border Worlds interests from the superior forces of the Confederation, who accused the Union of terrorism along the frontier. Unfortunately, many Vindicators were acquired by the Black Lance, the true culprit of the conflict for use against the Confederation. During the course of the conflict, the Vindicator served in various missions, ranging from patrols to escorts to assaults on warships and planetary bombardments. They served with distinction on the BWS Intrepid.
It is unknown if the Vindicators are still active as of 2681.
