The mission briefing and Origin's Official Guide to Privateer 2: The Darkening identifies the CIS Prototype as the Inspectorate; it is identified as CIS SMITHERS in-game (although internally the game refers to the ship as Inspectorate).

FROM: CIS HEADQUARTERS, SPECIAL OPS. DIV.
A CIS destroyer has either been captured or a significant number of her crew have mutinied. Either way, she is now under Kindred control. As you can well imagine, this is a totally unacceptable situation. We are looking for quality mercenary pilots to participate in a strike against the destroyer and whatever Kindred ships are present at (RANDOM). After the Destroyer has been eliminated retrieve the Black box recorder and take it to the CIS ship 'Smithers' docked off the shoulder of Hades.

Behind the Screens
- Origin's Official Guide to Privateer 2 lists the Prototype's ID as "Inspectorate". The game itself displays "CIS Smithers" as referenced in the diary entry (and uses Inspectorate as the unseen internal definition for the ship).
