Tau Wing was part of the rotational flight designations used onboard the TCS Tiger's Claw in reference to the missions flown by her pilots. Missions known to be flown under the Tau designator include:
- An investigation of Kilrathi presence at a nearby navpoint in the Gimle system on 2654.135. It was during this mission that Christopher Blair shot down famed Kilrathi ace Dakhath nar Sihkag.
- An attack on a Fralthi cruiser in the Rostov system, conducted by Blair and Michael Casey, on 2654.285
