- The TCS Iason becomes the first Terran Confederation ship to encounter the Kilrathi. Captain Andropolos beams the standard wideband non-verbal greeting to the then-unidentified ship and then waits motionlessly for twenty-two minutes. The Kilrathi then open fire and destroy the Iason with all hands.
