Peleus is a star system in the Epsilon Sector and a major territory of the Union of Border Worlds.

Peleus serves as a major supply center for the newly-formed Union. Many Terran shipping lines passed through the star system, maintaining the strength and endurance of the Union's cause.

During the Border Worlds Conflict of 2673, The secretive Black Lance faction attempted to sabotage civilian shipping in the system, destroying many starfighters and transports and causing massive civilian casualties. The BWS Intrepid was sent in to eradicate this threat, only to have their communications, sensors, and navigation jammed by the Black Lance. The Intrepid fought to defend itself and civilian shipping until it could determine the source of the jamming.

During this action, the Border Worlders captured a Terran pilot hired to work for the Black Lance, but he himself knew little about who they were or what they were planning. He recognized Colonel Christopher Blair, and owing him a favor, agreed to tell the Intrepid of the Black Lance's jammer, which was actually a modified Clarkson-Class Transport. The Intrepid tracked down the vessel using the pilot's information and destroyed the jammer, restoring communications and guidance to all nearby vessels and effectively liberating Peleus.

Peleus became a full-fledged member of the Union of Border Worlds after the defeat of the Black Lance. However, political turmoil grew by the year 2701 as the star system struggled to develop in the postwar era.
