Russo was a Terran pilot who flew for the Terran Confederation.

Russo was an active pilot as of 2673, during the Border Worlds Conflict. He was the leader of Green Squadron, a squadron of three Hellcat Vs assigned to escort the TCS Amadeus, a civilian medical transport. Their mission was to deliver Terran refugees from the crisis to the Megaron System.

During the patrol, Russo and his squadron were ambushed by a flight of Black Lance fighters posing as the Union of Border Worlds, led by a pilot known only as "Seether". The Amadeus informed Russo that they had detected a strange signal from presumably cloaked craft. Russo dismissed it as paranoia before being shot down in cold blood by Seether. He was the only pilot of his squadron not to see the attackers.
