Telamon, officially known by its discovery number FT957, is a remote star system in the Union of Border Worlds.
Telamon was only recently discovered and is still known by its discovery number. Therefore, it hosts a moderate population isolated to a handful of settlements on the planet Telamon. Despite these circumstances, the star system is considered a full member of the Union. The planet is a barren world littered with rock formations and hosts at least one airbase used by the Border Worlds Navy.
Telamon was the site of a major genocide in 2673 during the Border Worlds Conflict. Telamon was attacked by an unknown faction that launched a major bombing raid on the planet's surface, leading to the deaths of possibly thousands of civilians. The planet sent a distress call to the BWS Intrepid, the nearest ship in the area, requesting immediate assistance. A marine force led by Colonel Christopher Blair arrived only to discover that 90% of Telamon's populace had been exterminated, forcing the survivors to abandon the system.
It was later discovered that the attack was conducted by the Black Lance, a rogue Confed faction led by Admiral Geoffrey Tolwyn. He ordered a biological attack on Telamon by means of the Gen-Select Bioweapon, an insidious device that killed off only those civilians whose genetic codes did not live up to the standards of the Black Lance. Colonel Blair later revealed this act to the Confederation Senate, clearing the Border Worlds of any wrongdoing in the conflict and ensuring Admiral Tolwyn's conviction and eventual suicide.
