Saturn is a planet in the Sol System and the sixth planet from the sun, Sol. It is the second-largest planet in the system and a gas giant defined by its massive set of rings orbiting the planet. These rings are mostly rocks and ice. Saturn is beyond the reaches of Jupiter, a major military center of the Terran Confederation.
Saturn is named for the Roman god of agriculture and harvest, Saturnus. It possesses at least 60 moons.
Little is known of Saturn's status in the 27th century or if it is colonized. It is likely home to several major installations found in its orbit, as well as a number of lunar colonies.
