Kickstop is a flight maneuver in which a fighter makes a hard 90º turn and then holds its course in the hopes of forcing a pursuer to overshoot it. If this succeeds then the maneuver is followed by a 180º spin to return fire. It was listed as a standard maneuver in Taggart's Tactics.
