On 2654.134 the TCS Tiger's Claw was in the Gateway System awaiting the arrival of several transports and tankers. Due to a failed kilrathi attack on the Claw the previous day, on 2654.133, Colonel Peter Halcyon ordered several wings to rendezvous with the ships and to be especially vigilant in their defense as they escorted them to the Claw. One such wing was Sigma Wing, which consisted of Christopher Blair and James Taggart. In the process of defending the Drayman tanker, Blair and Taggart encountered two Gratha and three Salthi kilrathi fighters.
