Turret Mines are space-based laser platforms fielded by various factions, most notably the Terran Confederation. Their main purpose is the defense of high profile space installations, and often multiple turret mines are found forming a defensive perimeter around such installations. They normally act as anti-starfighter defenses. As of 2673, Terran turret mines typically sport two laser turrets on a single platform.
