EA Replay Turns Five Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Update ID

Happy Birthday, EA Replay! Exactly five years ago today, the Playstation Portable port of Wing Commander and The Secret Missions began shipping to stores. Every Wing Commander release is exciting for us Wingnuts, but the 2006 launch of EA Replay was an especially welcome treat. After just one new retail release so far during the decade, fans were eager for confirmation that the series wasn't forgotten. Wing Commander's prominent placement on the box cover and in ad copy helped boost morale until Wing Commander Arena arrived the following year. Europe didn't see the game until months after North America, but they were also lucky enough to get Replay on the Playstation Network Store, where it was also playable on the big screen via the PS3.

EA Replay drove many fans to rush out and buy a PSP (and for others, validated their prior purchase), and I have fond memories of driving around Vancouver with LOAF in search of the elusive Canadian version. Happy Birthday EA Replay!

BREAKING NEWS: EA on GOG Releases Resume Tomorrow Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Update ID

GOG today announced that the third set of EA games released through the service will begin tomorrow! It's not known which games will be next; at this point, games from every series GOG is known to have licensed have been released... so it could be anything! Our fingers are crossed for more Wing Commander or Privateer... or, failing that, more Ultima, Crusader, Cybermage or other Origin classics. They've posted a poll on Facebook asking customers which EA games customers want to see next. Be sure and tell them: Wing Commander! Check back tomorrow morning to see what the first release is.
