Thomas Hesse took note of the recent Generation 4 scan update and dug out another cool French Wing Commander magazine story for us. He explains the history thusly: "Back in September 1992, a new gaming review magazine appeared on french shelves. It was called PC Player. Right out of the box, they managed to show that they had good taste: The very first issue of that magazine had a full 12-page review of the Wing Commander Saga (at that time it was WC1, WC2 and Secret Operations). Pages 38-41 give quite a detailed introduction to the WC universe and its characters. Pages 43-45 are about the enemy ships, complete with precise black-on-white drawings. Pages 46-49 are about WC2 and its storyline. Enjoy!" We certainly will, thank you very much! We're always excited to preserve these kinds of scans for future viewing, no matter what language they happen to be in. Since I first played Wing Commander in France, this is especially cool for me...

Blues News, whose layout we stole before stealing layouts was cool, has linked to a "Cool Russian Game Poster". It's a giant image that includes dozens and dozens of video game characters interacting in various funny ways - the Wing Commander reference is Hobbes' staring down the main character from Postal (who is famous for using housecats as shotgun silencers). You can inspect the whole thing here (warning, includes cartoon nudity - looking good, Lara!)
