Wing commander Retro Box

I am turning an old PC into a retro box in order to play wing commander.

It will have windows 98 (for the old versions), windows 2000, XP and Ubuntu (to play around with).

What is the best setup for installing each of the wing commanders, I have a ton of different copies I found in garage sales.

System Setup:
2.4 Ghz PIV
512 Ram
SB 5.1 Live!
200 GB HDD (30 for 98, 60 for 2000, 40 for XP and about 60-70 for Linux)
 
Win98 will run all of the games, you can even tune the dos 6.22 with it to run the dos ones. Only issue might be the soundblaster live's dos support. Altho with the dos titles you should get away with dosbox for wc 1/2
 
In 98 I have wing commander 1 and 2 working, have not tried wing commander 3, wing commander 4 I have a wierd error, if I use the dxmcx workaround for the videos the sound on movies pops and sounds like it has a bad echo or filter. It is the 2 sided DVD version
