Wing Commander Prophecy self-built DVD?

Hi

I have WC Prophecy for many years now, the problem is with the many CD's.
Is it possible to create a DVD+R with the original (four or six) CD's?

If yes, how?

If no, why?

Well, beside the fact that Prophecy has only 3 CDs I'd also like to know whether it's pssible or not...
 
No problems with regards to file size. I think all the relevant files have to be in the 'root' directory, though.
 
Haven't tried it, but I assume that you could run into a problem with the disk identification. How does WCP recognize which CD is in drive? CD-Name? Config file on each disk (named the same on each one)? Simple existance of needed files? If not the latter you are kinda out of luck...
 
I'm quite sure that this should not be a problem, given the way that WCP/SO seems to search for necessary files. If all the files were copied to the WCP directory, I'm quite sure that the game would not ask for the insertion of particular CDs. Having all the files on the root directory of the 'CD' drive should have a similar effect.
