That's what everyone says, but I think it might be a ship in the background.
 
I'm thinking it's a big gun... just from the way her left hand seems to be closed on some sort of handle that's holding the thing at an angle.

I'd have to go with gun, too (though I always figured it was the sort of gun you mount in the wing of a fighter) -- the three Japanese boxes like this all seem to base their ships on those in the games, and this would be an odd exception.

Thanks for posting that high-res scan, Chris. Nice to see all the detail on that Frathi. Beautiful ship. Now I want to make one. :D
 
Hehe, you know, the first time i saw that cover in this thread I thought "Hey, that thing looks like something Howard would make". :)
