Wing Commander 4 (Demo) on XP

Hi everybody I downloaded the WC 4 demo and it locks up on the Speed Test screen. Anybody get over this ? I read in one of the topics someone also had that same question,but didn't find the answer.I've tried Dos-Box...but nothing.

Any ideas ?

What does the "nothing" mean when you tried DOSBox? There could be a great many reasons why it's locking up in Windows (we'd need a lot more information about your system to diagnose that), but it should be fine in DOSBox. What happens exactly when you try it there?

first time i tried it said "EMS driver is not VCPI compliant".So I go to dosbox.ini and set EMS to false.Then the setup worked,I passed the machine speed test,set options but when I try to run the game it says something about the game CD which is weird since its a demo :| ...anyways I can't get it to run from Windows,no matter compatibility mode or CPU Killer

My specs are Athlon 2800+ ,512 RAM , GeForce 6200,Soundblaster Live!,Xin XP Pro SP2

There's no speed problem with WC4, so CPU Killer wouldn't help. The included readme file also says it was specifically designed for DOS and probably won't work in Windows. What does it say about the game CD? If it wants to think it's on a CD, you can mount its source directory as a CD-ROM type in DOSBox.
