loved the first wing commander when i was a wee lad tried to play the 2 one got it installed but when i tried to run it it says ORIGIN FX DRIVER MISSING can any body help thanks.

I have never come across your problem, but if you have a technical problem you need help with it is better to at least post what version of Windows (or DOS) you are using plus which version of WC2 (the original for DOS, or the Kilrathi Saga etc...)

I haven't heard of WC2 needing any FX driver or such for running. The "Origin" part of the error message seems to me that something wasn't installed properly with the game.

Although I am not a technical expert on WC things.

Origin FX driver failed to load? Or just missing? IIRC, the former can be fixed by making sure the game is on the hard drive with the read-only attribute set to off on all files.

Forgot to copy the 'Gamedat' contents perhaps to the game directory?

Which operating system are you using?

I believe you get that Origin FX-message when you try to run WC2 through a Win9x-shortcut. DOS is the way to go. Or is it MyJEMM? Bah, they're both neat!

That will only be true if you don't set the working directory to the Wing Commander 2 directory. It then can't find the Origin FX files. The same's true if you run the game from another directory in DOS, because of the way you invoke moslo or because you're just odd.
