Where are the arrow fans?

Victory, you say?
Long ago, when WC3 was a somewhat recent title, the Arrow was the ace player favorite's ship. People bragged about how they could take any capship with it, and that it was the greatest fighter ever.

Perhaps it was just here in Brazil, but the Arrow had a cult. People were obsessed on how they could do anything with ion cannon and lasers, due to its incredible maneuverability. In the recent poll I made about fighter classes, the light fighters didn’t do particularly well, which is surprising, considering it would have favorites like the Ferret, Arrow and the Banshee.

There's one here:)

It was the aircraft I always took in WC3 unless I was going on a bombing run (or atmospheric job). Or at least it was til the Excal came along.

Until the "Super Fighters" came along, I was a lightfighter jock all the way. Even in Prophecy, I enjoy the Piranha (the stormfire helps;) )

yeah, i liked the arrow in WC3, tho for some reason i really liked the banshee even tho its lasers are weak... nice back up for the stomie tho ! god its fun wasting peeps with that thing !!

cheers !

When I first played WCIII, all I'd use was the Arrow. In fact I loved it so much, that when I had played WCIV and defected to the Intrepid and I would play against the Confed Pilots in the Arrows, I'd scream because they had it and I didn't. When I play WCIII, I still use the Arrow.

People said that about every fighter, so what?

I bet that nobody does regarding the Scimitar...

Who wants to give high remarks on that deathtrap?

I'm also one who always chose the Arrow, until the Excal was available. But in comparison to some of the other ships I've flown with...:)

I didn't really go for the Arrow much in WC3, but armada..... that's a whole different story.

The Arrow was amazing in the right hands (especially against other human players).

Flash in the hardest setting can kick some ass too. Or at least be very difficult to kill.

I guess I'm still an Arrow fan, but it did get a bit boring flying the same old fighter all the time, which kicked a lot of ass...so I started to just fly the default loadouts, except for the missiles of course...ain't that easy on Nightmare going against 6 Darkets with a Torp and 6 HS...

I prefer the Arrow over the Hellcat, given a choice. The Hellcat has only 220 shields/100 armor vs. 200 shields/80 armor on the Arrow, and trading in the Arrows long range Laser guns for the Hellcat's short range Neutron guns isnt much of a bonus to me either. Add in the fact that the Arrow carries eight HS/IR missiles compared to the Hellcat's six-any-type missiles (DF or Leech missiles are only useful against Vaktoth and heavier since a HS can kill anything lighter), and I just don't think that it's worth losing 1/3 of the maneuverability, the autoslide, and 100 kps cruise/200 kps afterburner speed. However, I will take the Thunderbolt for missions in which I have to go up against anything heavier than a Corvette.

call me crazy, but i prefer the Hellcat over the arrow. mabye it's my flying style. i get in close where the neutron guns (which pack almost twice the punch as lasers) are effective, and I get more gun kills than missile kills. mabye it's also cause i really don't like light fighters.

Well that's your preference. My preference is to plink at enemies at long range--preferably from outside of their own gun range.

I always chose the Hellcat over anything especially on Nightmare levels. I almost never used autoslide, and guns are about the only way to kill anything when the Kilrathi can outjinx anything you throw at them in the way of missiles. Give me a little more protection and a little more hitting power and I'll make up for the lack of manueverability.

yeah, the only time i use autoslide is the afterburner trick and when i'm inside a capship, and about the only time i use the afterburner thing is on that one mission in UE where you escort the avenger, and i prefer to kill capships from the outside. the explosion looks nicer that way
