WCPedit: ship conversions

How can I add fan-made ships to the WCPedit program? I already downloaded alot of .iff ship files and put them in a folder called "ships", but they wont appear on the list, is there any way to make them added on? Or do I have to copy it onto a existing ship for a current mission, if so then how do I copy it?

I am running this program in my Secret Ops directory, not Prophecy.
 
When running WcEdit and if it doesnt pick them up automatically try going to the 'add ship' button and selecting the ship there.
