I've only played through the first two missions so far but I wanted to ask, is there any way to test in-game music for Wing Commander Prophecy in Windows XP (e.g. a given sim mission that plays music)? Its been awhile since I've played and with all the incompability issues, I would like a definite source to reference to try different configurations on to KNOW that its working.

Current system settings: Win98 compatibility, GeForce2 MX400 Card, D3D, On Sound in dxdiag HardwareAcceleration is Set to None, Music has been enabled/disabled with no visible effect
Current game settings: SFX and Movie Volume set to none, not hearing anything. Adjusting the music bar makes an odd sound (like two ships bumping into each other in game).

I tried searching the forums, but with little luck. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks :).

no luck, anybody have any suggestions? Its not a terrible loss, but the in-game music was really well done and not something to miss out on.

strangely enough, secret ops music plays fine, possibly some registry values?

blah, nevermind, got it working with a little bit of sluething through install files and the registry.
