WCP gameplay resolution not upscaling

Hey all,

I've attached a screenshot of the issue i'm having. my resolution is 1920x1200. Everything is setup properly and all other enhancements work properly.

Is this the way it's supposed to look? I'm running win7 x64.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Prophecy was released way before widescreen monitors were commonly sold, so it's reasonable that the game does not support widescreen resolutions. The pillar-boxing is fine, and in my opinion, desirable to preserve the original aspect ratio.

yup, it's a widescreen 24". I agree with you, wedge. I'm perfectly content with the pillar-boxed effect. the game looks great. I suppose I was just curious.

Thanks for confirming.

Also, while I have you here, have any of you experienced flickering game-play video? i've seen it around the forums and i'm just starting to experience it now. It happens intermittently. Im not 100% certain, but it seems like it started happening after I installed prophecy using hip63's upgrade pack

Although, I could have missed it when I had installed upgrades manually. I had initially thought the pillar-boxing in game-play was incorrect, which is what drove me to test hip63's package. Now that I know it's normall, I'll go back and install with manual updates to see if that kills flickering.

Additionally, I'm seeing some video artifacts in gameplay. Nothing serious, just a few, what seem to be edges/borders of various HUD elements. I've attached image pointing it out.

The hacks themselves are mostly the work of HCl. I think hip63 just put them together in a convenient packages (which is clearly handy for some people).

Haven't had flickering video, from what I can recall, and the artefacts you're seeing are due to texel alignment. For nVidia drivers, set texel alignment to 7 and in ATi's Catalyst, select 'Alternate texture alignment' under compatibility options.

...at least that's what used to work in times past - not sure where the equivalent options are in today's driver settings, maybe someone else can help you with this.

I think i'm going to play game as is; it's not a big issue. Fortunately, I havent seen the flickering video since I mentioned in first post.

I feel that even if i could find equivilent settings for my nvidia GTX470, I might compromise rendering in other applications, where it matters most (i.e. photoshop, lightroom, etc.).

Thanks for advice here, though; really enjoying the enhanced game!

Cheers! :D
