WC4 Windows XP issue.

Spaceman
Hello, I'm having a problem that I request help on. I'm playing Wing commander 4 on my XP machine, and On the second disc first mission (capturing the science base) I fly to the first waypoint and destroy a fighter and It crashes. If someone could please help I'd apriciate it.

Is your disc damaged? Have you tried adjusting some sound options in the control panel? Are you playing with Compatibility mode turned on?

I'm running the windows patched version, with the 2k fix. I'll get into more detail. When I fly to the way point, it's runing with sound issues, then I start to fight the borderworld forces, and after the first ship gets destroyed either by myself or the wingman the game crashes, right at the end of the explosion. And the disc doesn't have scratches, I also have tried running it under diffrent compatability modes, it happens to all of them. I've even reinstalled. Nothing seems to work.

You don't want to run any Windows 2000 patch if you're running XP. That could be causing this problem.

What does "running with sound issues" mean exactly? This could be a glitch between your sound card and the game. Have you tried altering various sound card settings?

What are you general computer specs here? You could just try to run this one mission through DOSBox and then going back to the regular way you played the game.
