WC4 in Win2000

After patching my copy of WC4 to run in Win2000 - everything works great! Except for the fact that you get booted out of it after 20 minutes or so. It usually happens during transition from video to game. Anyone got any ideas?
 
Did you try switching off hardware accel on your graphics card? How's the rest of the system?

And another suggestion from an unnecessarily sarcastic captain: Did you try VDMS od did you get the sound working right away?
 
LeHah, do you always get booted out after transition between scenes or is there anything else? When I have tried playing wc4 in win2000 this was not an issue for me but I have never got passed the biolab mission because as soon as the combat music tries to loop and start again, I get a crash to desktop. Has this ever happened to you? Win2000 is trully a horrible operating system for running wing commander games so I found the best solution to be to install winME (or any other win9x) as a games only OS and then dual boot.
