Can you provide a little more info about your system? What kind of sound card are you using and what kind of speaker setup do you have. It's possible your machine is trying to play the 5.1 audio while on a two speaker setup and is not downmixing to compensate.

There should be some settings you can adjust on either your sound card or audio filter if you installed ac3filter, for example. Also, a lot of people have noticed that the audio does tend to be quieter in the movies than the gameplay anyway.

My system is a Terratec 7.1 Aueron Space Soundcard.
And the speaker setup is only 4.1.

Am not sure how to change some settings to make it sound better, but on my old computer it was louder..

Its like you hear the music, and someone else saying something, but you are missing some sounds and voices.

Hope this helps to be able to fix this..

Thanks

Did you install ac3 filter at all to get the game to work? Did you look to see what your sound card is set to output 5.1 channel audio to? Are you getting sound in all the speakers? I'm not familiar with that make of sound card or it's associated software. Do the VOBs sound ok when you play them independantly from the game in a software DVD player?

Also you should check that you don't have any wierd DSP settings turned on to simulate different room effects as that could make everything sound srewy too.

Hey!

Thanks AD!

Well i have checked the settings on the soundcard, am not sure how to set it.
No, i didnt had to install AC3-Filter to make the game run, i did install it to maybe fix the sound, but that didnt work.

The sound is the same when playing the VOB directly from the DVD in a software DVD-player. Still low..
Oh yeah, i can hear the sound from all speakers, tho am missing one speaker, it was broken before. so i got 3 speakers..

What can i do?

Have you gone into your Windows sound master volume controls and made sure that each level is balanced? You want to make sure that overall volume, wave, SW synth, CD player, etc, are all turned up. If you put in another DVD, do the VOB files on it also play at low volume?

Hello All!

ChrisReid: Thanks, I manage to get it working by buying a new set of speakers.
Instead of the old Cambrige Soundworks, i now got Logitech Z-5450.

And now it works like a charm in the intro anyway, gonna try it later.

Thanks for all support!!

I'm glad it works. It sounds like your old setup wasn't compensating for the lost speaker and so any discreet audio slated for that speaker would be dropped meaning that odd sections of audio would be either missing or muted. You might have been able to fix it by changing your speaker settings in windows to two speakers and then your hardware should have downmixed the audio apropriately (though it would obviously sound less dynamic).
