WC4 DVD Problems

I was lucky enough to find a copy of WC4 DVD at Goodwill for $3.

Now, the problem:

I do a complete install (rather than typical). I then change the compatability to Win 95. Then, I copy Gulikosa's DLL files into the directory.

Running the game, I get an error rendering the file, and that there is a missing video file.

The game is from 9/16/97, and I am using a PIII 800/256 RAM/Win XP Pro

Any suggestions?

Yes, I tried 1.0 first, then 1.2 - same result.

I just thought of something:

Whenever it wouldn't work, I'd delete the entire directory instead of uninstalling. Would this be a reason it didn't work?

Error rendering file usually means you do not have proper direct show filters installed.

In the meantime, I've been playing Privateer 2 thanks to Tom Perl's Windows patch - it rocks!

Sure there are...see the addons section - you need mpeg2 and ac3 filters.
