WC3 Win 98 patch

Hi, just a simple question: Is there an independant win98 patch for WC3?
When I bought my kilrathi saga, the guy cheated me: there was only one disk: WC1 and WC2, and I had to buy a dos WC3.

It would be nice not to buy a KS again, so can you help me on this one?

Also, is there a way to costumise joystick controlls in WC1 and WC2 (KS version)?
My second joy button fires afterburn, I would have wanted it to fire missiles.

No WC game besides Armada allows for any customisazion of the controls. Firing missiles is button 1 + button 2 IIRC.

As far as WC3 goes - it isn't easy to patch WC3 DOS to WC3 KS as all the sound was redone for the KS AFAIK.

No way for what? Customize joystick? LOAF told me once you might be able to use the S/W prog that came w/ the joystick to reprogram which buttons were used, but I was not successful. If you are not speaking about joystick config, what are you trying to do? I am not sure i understand what you are asking for. Can you play the WC1, WC2 without installing WC3? Did you try returning to the seller, get another copy, or your money back?
 
no, I mean get WC3 to be patched to the KS version. (I don't have the necessary CPU power to use dosbox with such a damanding title).
 
k, w/ that I have no idea. I don't think there are any files avil. for this. HCL, or AD might have an idea... Sorry man.
 
THere is a method that kind of works involving using the wc3 KS exe wih the dos version, but it's not entirely tested and and potentially buggy but apparently it works.
 
If you install WC3 via KS, you can use the WC3 DOS discs fine, but there won't be any music.
