I want to play wc3 on my p1 100mhz. I can run the game, but i dont have sound. When i choose soundblaster 16 during the installation, theres no sound an the game hangs in every video sequence after some seconds, i can skip then with esc.
Someone know, how i can solve the prob?

sry for bad english^^

I had the same problem. You should check your windows IRQ and DMA sound card settings and set it correctly in Wing3 setup. "DMA High" (or something like it) is probably the problem.

found it and it works, yeah.

thanx to you

the sound hang sometimes a little bit in the sequences but that doenst matter.

I have my old Windows 98 in Polish version, so I have to guess how it is in English :) Lets try :) First You RIGHT click on "My computer" and select "propeties" from the bottom of the menu. Then select "Devices manager" (or something called like it) :) There You double click "sound video and games controlers" (or somethin like it :) ) Double click Creative SoundBlaster 16 and select "resources" There it is: First is IRQ, below DMA and DMA HIGH (i think) below you can see Address (should be 220 or 240).

you figured it out very well

the sound is faster then the sequence, i will check later the settings again. first i wanna fly some arounds :)

where can i change my soundcard settings after the first time?

If there is no setup program in WC3 folder (I don`t remember) then You should remove WC3 folder from HD and install it again. It always works! :)
