WC3 - unresponsive controls (keyboard)

Hello there - newcomer to the forums here.
I've just installed WC3 - Heart of the Tiger (just copied the contents of every CD onto a folder and then ran the .exe via the latest version of DosBox).

The game seems to run fine for the most part but, however, I noticed that the keyboard controls seem unresponsive when I use the Hellcat and the other heavy fighter that you have available at the first 3 missions (can't recall the name right now, sorry). By unresponsive I mean when I press,say, the UP arrow sometimes it fails to respond at all, or moves only in a jittery way. If I press LEFT or RIGHT it acts like it should... at first I thought that this was because my ship had been hit and the flight control had been damaged accordingly. But this is not the case because I get the same unresponsive / sluggish keyboard controls if I start the mission anew and right at the beginning.

Another strange thing is that if I choose the Arrow, I have no control problems whatsoever.... What gives?
 
Is there a reason you aren't using the mouse for movement? Is it also unresponsive?
 
hum... wasn't aware I could use the mouse... always played with the direction keys back in the olden days. I'll give it a spin and let you know if works. I'll also check the setup - something may be causing a conflict there.

You probably need to select mouse in the inflight options menu (alt+o). Make sure you choose save settings otherwise you will have to choose mouse ever mission.

Thanks for the tip. I tried the mouse and it helps, but I'm still puzzled as to why the arrow keys don't work properly. I'll install WC3 at a different computer to check if there's any difference.
