WC3 - run slowly in near other ships

Spaceman
Hello!

I run WC3 on SuSE Linux 10.0 (DosBox 0.63) and WinXP (DosBox 0.65) and I have little problem. Game run perfectly until ... I fly near other space ship or I shot to the enemy. Then game run very slowly. After (when I fly away from ship or stop shoting) game again run fast.

What's it problem? Help me please.

How fast is your PC? YOu probably need to turn on dynamic core and turn the cycles way up.

I'm not even foreign and WC3 ran frustratingly slow for me during all the gameplay sequences. In fact the only flyable ships were the Arrow and Excalibur, though they both handled like a Scimitar. Luckily you can beat the game using only those two.

Well, it sounds like you need to allocate more memory to dosbox.

No, it doesn't.

It wasn't funny.

Just adjusting the core is only the first step. Once the core has been changed to dynamic, you can change your cycle value to about 50,000.

I change like You write and.... game, movies amd sound run terrible slow.

Every system is different. You need to adjust the configuration until it fits your computer. Dynamic core and 50,000 cycles certainly shouldn't be slower. Make sure you actually are in dynamic core mode. If you attempt to go to 50,000 cycles on normal mode, then it will slow to a crawl. Start at like 25,000 and gradually increase until you find the level that works for you. Also try moving frameskip to like 2.
