Long time viewer, first time poster. I hope you guys can help ;-)
I've been trying to get Wing Commander III to work on my apple iBook lately. I'm running OS 10.2 right now, and when I boot up WC3, it has to run in Classic OS 9. No big deal... until the game starts.
The music, still menus, and space combat are all perfect, with clear audio, a fast framerate, and fluid controls. The problem comes in whenever I decide to talk to a wingman (or trigger any ohter FMV sequence).
The problem is that the sound and video both run a little slow.. about 80% of the speed they should be running. This makes the sound stutter to try and match the video.. but it never really works.
I've tried numberous things, including disabling the sound effects. When I do THAT, the video runs at about 300% at what it normally should run. I think the problem lies with my sound codec, as it seems to have the most trouble keeping in sync with the video.
Does anyone have any advice on this? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated :-D
My system:
iBook 700 PowerPC G3
384 MB RAM
16 MB ATI 3-D Card
8x Combo drive
etc, etc...
