I know that this has been addressed, but none of the solutions have helped me.

1. During installation, neither sound card or digital FX install seem to "work"
I have a Soundblaster Live card, and for it to work on XP, I had to download the latest driver. Yet, I still do not hear the music.

In the FX selection, the I/O selection only gives 3 digit numbers (both my sound card and video card contain 4 digit letters). My IRQ selection only goes up to 15 (my cards are 16 and 17). I do not know how to find out my DMA number.

2. My joystick does not work. I have a Gravis Thunderbird which works in windows just fine, but when I attempt to calibrate it, the game doesn't seem to detect it.

The game itself is ok, but when onboard the Victory and on missions, the sound is disrupted. The videos work great!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you sure you are using a PC and not some super computer?
While for the I/O selections you might be looking at memory ranges instead of I/O ranges I got no idea as how you got an IRQ 16?! No Intel compatible CPU I know of got more then 15 Interrupts (hardware ones that is).

Surely got me confused there...

Maybe I'm reading the information wrong? How do you figure out that type of information?

I went through the control panel, opened administrative tools under performance and maintenance. I opened computer management and then I selected the device manager.

I got this computer for Christmas, but I don't think Dell specialises in supercomputers. But it tells me my DMA, IRQ, IO, and Memory. According to what it says, my IRQ goes up to 23?

I might just be extremely stupid. Thank you for your input. I would appreciate anymore input from anyone.

Thanks!
