WC3 in XP

I know there have been tons of these but here it goes. My computer:
P4 2.26 GHZ
512ram
Geforce 4 TI4600
Santa Cruz soundcard
DVD burner
Sidewinder Precision Pro Joystick
Win XP

Ok...The game works except for the sound and joystick. Can aybody help me out here.

Also I have a SB PCI 512 sound card in my other XP computer. It says that it can do DOS games but WC3 sound won't work. Again any help would be great.
 
WC3 won't work with your joystick (Microsoft doesn't like DOS anymore), so that's one problem down. Do you have DOS in the machine at all, or are you using NTFS? Is the sound set up properly? All drivers in place?
 
No there's no DOS at all because I just got the computer off DELL about 3 weeks ago and it's solely XP. And since I got it off DELL the sound is set up properly all the right drivers and everything.
 
well, unless u have the collector's edition or the KS version, u cannot have sound in XP.
if u do, right click the icon, and goto the properties, then to compatibility, then click win95.
 
Yeah that's what I was thinking....my friend has the KS but I have the original version adn he's in college so I guess I can't do anything.
