Hey all, i have a problem running WC3, After it installs it seems everything is goin good, but when i try to run the game either by pressing Save Settings And Run WC3 in the menu, or Save and Exit Then typing in WC3 in the prompt all it does is run the install again, i seriously cant figure it out, and a little help would be aprreciated.

We need more info about how you are trying to run the game... Are you installing this in dosbox? Are you trying to run the game from the exe on the CD? Or from your install directory?

It almost sounds like you might not have mounted your harddrive correctly in dosbox.

yes i am using DOSBOX, as far as I can tell i'm mounting everything correctly, i have the original cd's and i've tried running it from the cd and from a diffrent directory, either way all it does is install over and over again...it seems someone else had this same problem and he said all he did was install it to his c:\ Drive and it worked fine, but it wont let me create a save directory in my C:\ drive during the installation..I've also tried doing this through windows, and the game will work, but with no sound or joystick support, therefore i must use dosbox

It definitely sounds like the harddrive isn't mounted right.
Try creating the directory you want to install to before running the installer. If that doesn't work, double check your harddrive mounting lines in dosbox.

your harddrive line should look like this: mount c: c:\

your CD-ROM line should read like this: mount d: d:\ -t cdrom
where the second D is the actual drive letter of your CD drive.

well that worked, but only so far, I now have a new error.

Open failed on file ..\..\data\sound\gfsample.iff

someone else had this problem to, he said he turned on mscdex is dosbox, how do I do that?
