WC3 disk 4 problem

I completed the mission on disk 1 with the excalibur and it said to put in disk 4. So I put the disk in and continued the game. I got the briefing for the first disk 4 mission. I started the mission but then the game crashes and it says "Seek failed on file DARKGAL 1". How do you fix it?
 
Is the game trying to access the CD at that point? Is the CD perhaps scratched?

Is this the DOS Or Kilrathi saga version?

Well, it's quite possible the scratches are worse than you first though.

You can try cleaning the disk, or using something like a disk doctor on it and see if that helps.

I also don't know how you could not tell if it's the dos or windows version. Are you running the game in dosbox? what are your system specs? If you try copying the CD To the harddrive does it give you any errors? If not, and it's the DOS version, you could try mounting the CDs from the harddrive in dosbox and seeing if you still get the error.

It's the DOS version.
 
If you haven't done so yet, AD's tests should tell you how bad the scratches are and if they're at fault. Mounting the copied disc folder on the hard drive as your CD-ROM should work if none of the data is corrupt.
