Hello everybody,

First just want to say thanks for maintaining a brilliant website - I have just been playing WC3 for the first time in years! The information I have found in the forums has enabled me to get the thing working, and thus I turn to you now in the hope that:

1) You already know the problem I'm about to mention and have a fix

or

2) I'm being stupid and you will tell me where I'm going wrong.

The problem is that I can't seem to get the actual cockpit working in WC3 (where you see the airframe and joystick/throttle etc.) I just get the HUD. Any help would be massively appreciated by a WC perfectionist!

All the best,

Paul

What version of WC3 is this? DOS or Kilrathi Saga? What happens when you hit F1?

Hello again,

Sorry should have included much more information on my post. Pressing F1 sadly does nothing. I'm running:

- Wing Commander III EA Classics edition (DOS only I suppose)
- DOSBox 0.63 with altered .conf file to turn ems=false (I had to do this to get the game running)
- Running the game from original CD-ROM set
- Approx 40,000 cycles on DOSbox

Hope this helps you help me!

Thanks again,

Paul

So what does it show when you launch? The cockpit is the default, so you should see it immediately from the flight deck. What happens when you switch to other views (F2, F4 and so on)? It shouldn't matter, but I suppose you should try DOSBox 0.65. The version you have it somewhat old now. Have you tried adjusting and saving different resolutions in the options menu (SVGA/VGA/buffering in ALT+O in space)?

THis is a good thing to try. When you switch views, what happens when you press F1 to go back to the main view? I was given a wierd logitech keyboard with tons of multimedia and web functions. It retardedly does not default to F1 actually being the F1 key. I have to make sure that the "f-lock" key is specifically pressed before playing most games.

Hello again guys,

Thanks for your help, have downloaded the latest version of DOSBox and this appears to have fixed the issue (How weird).

I have now unearthed another minor problem however - problems with the afterburner key when using mouse control.

I know its been mentioned in the forums before - just wondering if you know of a workaround.

Thanks again,

Paul
