WC2 Speech

I reinstalled WC2 on an old computer and I can't seem to have the speech working. The soundcard is a SoundBlaster 2.0, but while setting up I get the message "I can't seem to find a 100% SoundBlaster compatible soundcard". So which version does the game require? (given it's not a memory issue since I have plenty of expanded memory... and oddly enough, the speech used to work on the same card 10 years ago...)
Also, is it still possible to find the WC2 Speech Accessory Pack somewhere?

I bought a copy of the Accessory Pack off of eBay a few months ago. It shouldn't be long before another one comes along.
 
What are you supposed to hear with the Accessory Pack anyway? Only radio messages and the scenes involving the Kilrathi, or all scenes?
 
Just comms and Kilrathi scenes.

What IRQ is your sound card at? WC2 had a primitive auto-detect that might get you in trouble...
 
The speech works now...
Probably a glitch during detection last time...
