WC2 People.v07

Ok, so I was following the manual installation steps for DOSBox and kept continually getting "File People.v07 is missing" even after completing step 14. So I went to look on the CD to see if the file was even there. I then think I made a mistake by opening the file, People.v07, in WordPad (right click -> "open" -> "select file from a list" -> WordPad) just to see what it looked like. Now when I view the files on the cd People.v07 isn't even there. If I have windows search the cd (drive d) for people.v07 it comes up with a WordPad icon and the directory is through some hidden files.

So I was wanting to know if anyone knows how to have windows stop viewing the file as a WordPad file and also, does anyone know where the option is to view hidden files on XP?

I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but I think I can help.

To stop Windows from opening it as a WordPad file, go to Tools in Explorer, then Folder Options, then the File Types tab. Go through that list and find the .v07 file type and hit the delete button.

To view hidden files, go to the Folder Options thing like before and select the View tab. You should see something that says "Hidden files and folders". Select "Show hidden files and folders" and you should be good to go.

After you've copied all the specified files over to the hard drive, make sure you're running Install.exe from the hard drive too. You can actually completely take out the disc at this point. I would recommend you do so to keep things from getting mixed up.
