WC Secret Missions 2 Copy Protection

I just got this second add-on for Wing Commander as abandonware and found out the thing is copy-protected...
Since I don't have the game manual, I'm unable to find the requested numbers. So I wish to know which year Professor Kohl observed the Sivar-Eshrad planet and how many systems were necessary to find it... and does the Ralari weigh 18000 tons?...
 
I shall only add that WC1 is not legal to download, hence the problem. If you want a legit copy, order a backissue of the July 2000 PC Gamer, which had the Kilrathi Saga version on it, legitimately. Or you could purchase an old copy on e-bay
